1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Gmail Sense ("Gmail Sense," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our Chrome extension and related services. Gmail Sense helps you work with Gmail, send and schedule messages, manage follow-ups, and use Google Contacts for recipient selection and contact organization.
By installing or using Gmail Sense, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you authorize or register for Gmail Sense, our Supabase Edge Functions may receive and store your Gmail or Google account email address, given name, family name, registration date and time, and most recent sign-in or service-use date and time. We use this information to create and maintain your account, authenticate requests, provide support, prevent abuse, and protect service security.
Google Contacts information
When you choose a Contacts feature, Gmail Sense requests the Google People API Contacts scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contacts. We access, create, organize, and label only the contact information needed for the feature you select, including contact names and email addresses.
Depending on the feature you use, Gmail Sense may also request https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send to send messages you compose or schedule, and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile to identify your authorized Google account and associate the account email, given name, and family name with your Gmail Sense account. These scopes are used only for the corresponding user-requested features.
Service and usage information
We may collect information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service, such as feature requests, authentication events, error information, and account activity timestamps.
Email and Gmail content
When you use Gmail sending or scheduling features, Gmail Sense processes only what is necessary to carry out your request. We do not sell Gmail data or use Gmail message content for advertising or unrelated profiling.
3. Google Contacts and AI-Assisted Contact Features
If you request contact import, contact generation, recipient selection, or labeling, Gmail Sense uses the Google People API to retrieve the relevant contact fields and uses Supabase Edge Functions to invoke the requested service actions.
Gmail Sense may use artificial intelligence to organize contact information and generate Google Contacts-compatible contact records, fields, or import data for this service. AI is used to support the feature you initiate, such as formatting, structuring, deduplicating, or preparing contacts for import and labeling. AI processing is not used to sell your information, serve unrelated advertising, or create an independent advertising profile.
The service sends only the information reasonably required for the requested action to the applicable Supabase Edge Function over HTTPS. We retain information only as needed to provide the requested feature, operate the account, maintain security, comply with law, and resolve disputes.
4. Google API Limited Use Disclosure
Gmail Sense's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- Google API data is used only to provide or improve a user-facing Gmail Sense feature that you request.
- We do not sell Google API data or use it for targeted advertising or unrelated profiling.
- We do not transfer Google API data to data brokers or advertising platforms.
- We request only the permissions needed for the feature and you may revoke access through your Google Account settings.
5. How We Use Information
- To authenticate you and operate your Gmail Sense account.
- To invoke requested Gmail, Google Contacts, import, generation, and labeling actions.
- To generate and format Google Contacts-compatible data using AI-assisted features when requested.
- To provide support, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, service changes, and requested features.
- With your consent or as permitted by law, to send marketing emails about Gmail Sense, product updates, new features, and related products or services. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link provided.
6. Service Providers and Security
We use Supabase Edge Functions and related infrastructure to perform authenticated service actions and account operations. Service providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately. We use HTTPS and reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Retention and Your Choices
We retain account and activity information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Gmail Sense, meet legal and security obligations, and resolve disputes. You may stop using the service, revoke Google access at Google Account Permissions, or contact us to request deletion of eligible account information. Operational and legal records may need to be retained where required.
8. Children's Privacy
Gmail Sense is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The updated date above indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact us through the support channel provided by Gmail Sense.
